With the changing seasons, one always goes for an upgrade in their home to feel at comfort to face the coming summer heat or wintery cold. The onset of winter is not only about a change in the closet but also about making your home ready for the season. Winter Textures and Layers

Adding soft and cozy fabrics that incorporate wool and velvet and faux fur offer just the right comfort in one's living space. Putting extra cushions on the couch or extra pillows in your bedroom offers one a visual warmth on entering the room.

Using heavier bedspreads and warm quilts and comforters in the bedroom can make your bed snug, to spend those few extra minutes in the winters. Using heavy curtains by the windows adds the visual appeal of less cool interiors making the atmosphere of one's bedrooms a pleasant.

Using knitted rugs and accessories help keep your feet from getting cold and add a pop to the decor. Choose rugs that fit the style and character of one's home and can fit with the existing style. Fabrics can take other forms too such as knitted cable knits, knitted poufs, stool covers, and exude visual comfort.

Woodsy and cozy

Incorporating wooden textures to the indoors also adds the look of warmth inside. Wood acts as a great insulator and can help in keeping the surroundings pleasant. Adding a wooden console table, new cabinets, or a wooden textured dining table, adds a sense of comfort. Wood has a natural warmth to it and can make one's indoor just as inviting.

Bringing in living room furniture closer together also aids in making the room feel snug. Filling in corners of the room with radiant warmth including statement pieces can help in adding a wintery comfort inside.

Color for the walls

Using warm colors on the walls keeps the room cozy. Going for darker colors like rich purples and royal blues as accent walls makes the room look bolder and richer. Pairing the Dark walls with winter whites appeals to the eye. The dark hues surrounded by the whites on the beds and the bedside tables can keep the rooms trendy and give a hint of life to the interiors.

Adding greenery inside aids in bringing the outdoors inside when it gets too cold to step out and keeps the interiors fresh and airy. Using gentle greens and fresh scented flowers keeps the balance of the seasonal change.

Mirrors and Metallics

Adding mirrors on the walls helps reflect light in the room and makes the room seem bigger. The same goes with metallics where light can be reflected off the surface and the added shine gives the necessary winter bling to the room.

A touch of nostalgia here and there can keep your room filled with familiarity during the cold days and makes for a great intimate setting for family and close gatherings. Using traditional embroidery on cushions, a rocking chair, and such traditional elements can provoke a pleasing atmosphere.

Lighting

Soft yellow lighting plays a major role in keeping a space warm in cold winter. Using focus lights in a room can make the eye stay to the centre and also aid in spreading warmth throughout. With short days and long nights, one tends to use more light inside. Using fancy candles in forgotten corners immediately brightens up the rooms. The radiance from the flickering candle lights also helps in giving a calming glow creating an alluring surrounding.

Adding accent light to soft concealed lighting improves the aesthetics of the indoors.
